
Learn More About Alberto Pirrera
Pianist and composer, Alberto Pirrera started playing the piano at the early age of 5 composing his very first song “il mare” only after 3 years.
Having as a mentor the prize-winning pianist Bruno Ferraro and studying at the Music Conservatory V. Bellini of Caltanissetta in Italy, Alberto began his musical journey specialising in contemporary Russian composers such as Khachaturian, Shostakovich, Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev.
At the age of 11 he successfully performed the Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns in Sicily with the G. Pascoli High School orchestra of Enna. After a series of theatre performances around Italy, Alberto won also the second prize of the international piano competition M. C. Sceberras playing Toccata by A. Kachaturian in 1998.
In 2001 Alberto moved to the U.S. in Minnesota for 1 year where he joined the Hutchinson High School Choir and participated in the High School Musical Show “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” by Tim Rice. In 2004 Alberto moved to Berlin where he regularly attended chamber music events at cafes and theatres, as well as performing with a blues band in various locations of the German capital. He has accompanied singers in both classical and pop styles on piano, as well as students for exams, performances, and music competitions. In 2015 Alberto moved to Abu Dhabi for 3 years exploring the Middle Eastern musical culture and giving piano lessons in Dubai.
Next to his piano career, Alberto graduated with a Master Degree in International Management at the University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milano and worked in the marketing department of international companies such as Chanel, Etihad Airways and Nickelodeon TV.
In 2018 Alberto moved to Paris where he currently works as a full time music professional and offers classical & contemporary piano lessons in English, French, Italian or German language for any age level from beginners to advanced. He encourages a holistic approach that combines piano technique, listening, ear training, music theory, and developing the mindset to make a genuine connection with piano music.
He performed at the American Musical Theatre Association of Paris playing “A Weekend in the Country” by Stephen Sondheim. Today he is active in the creation of cultural events, collaborating with other musicians and artists.
